In 1995 PENMEN was signed for national syndication by Creators Syndicate, Inc. I had the honor of meeting the great Charles Schulz at a New York Reuben Awards in New York. He called me “Penman” but I didn’t feel like I knew him enough to call him “Sparky”. He told me, “you can’t let yourself grow up in this business”. I replied, “who’d want to?”.
